Dear Ms. Chin,

Thank you for all the heart you have poured into creating the community at Kid Krazy. Your cause, for creating Kid Krazy, of acceptance and a genuine love for children and fun while learning has been clear since the moment we stepped into Kid Krazy.

During the two years our son has been a student in the Caterpillar Class and Butterfly Class, we have seen him achieve a pride, and excitement in what he does in class from creating a blueprint of his home to excitedly sharing at home that some friends in his class celebrate Hanukkah, some celebrate Kwanza and some celebrate Christmas and they are all fun and important. The curriculum at Kid Krazy is so interesting and for the children taught in such a fun interactive way. It is unmatched, especially the way the teachers teach appreciation and celebration and curiosity for all cultures, and traditions.

Because the teachers at Kid Krazy come from such diverse backgrounds and genuinely care about each child’s individuality, the students naturally develop a healthy curiosity and empathy for others and diversity unity. Also because of this, our son socially is always excited to go to school to see his friends of different backgrounds and on the weekends misses them and asks to see them and go to the park with them.

The way the curriculum at Kid Krazy is taught, we have noticed our son feel a love for learning and that learning is fun. Kid Krazy doesn’t teach children just to test but instead they teach children to embrace their natural curiosity and to love and feel genuine excitement for learning. Also, Kid Krazy cares about the process of learning over just results and outcome. Detaching oneself to an outcome is an important life lesson to our family and the fact that Kid Krazy starts this thought process is highly valued. An example of how they do this is how writing is taught at Kid Krazy. It is not taught by mere tracing or memorization. Instead, children learn different letter strokes associated with fun objects they like, and then learn to write letters using these strokes, on their own.Kid Krazy takes one lesson and continues to build on it and use it in daily activities thereafter, as well.

Teachers genuinely love kids at Kid Krazy and have so much fun with what they’re doing. I will always cherish the way Ms. Sayeeda, Ms. Abby, and Ms. K. would always be excited to see what our son would be wearing when he would come into the classroom and make such a point to share this excitement with him. Another fond memory is how Ms. Daniela and Ms. Mia would do funny dances with our son to teach hand washing for 20 seconds.

The support Kid Krazy gives strengthens family bond as well. The teachers communicate what your child does each day in class with daily photos of the class by an app called Brightwheel. The teachers also take time to talk to parents at pickup about what happened with your child each day.

Also, the fast pivot and way Kid Krazy figured out how to continue daily learning during the pandemic has helped so many families. Not only was remote teaching offered right away, when schools closed last year in March, but supplies and detailed daily lesson plans were sent home so that families could build choice centers and activities with their children just like as if they were in school.

As far as this year goes, Kid Krazy has surpassed any expectations with reopening and our children’s safety yet again. I said at the beginning of this school year, "If any school can reopen safely, Kid Krazy is the one to do it.” Like so many parents, there was so much anxiety about sending our son back to school this Fall. You cannot put a price tag on your child’s safety and with the many conflicts from government leaders on what to do, Kid Krazy stepped up to the plate and put many to ease. Their plan was extremely thought out and they waited even longer than they could have to open back up until they were extremely confident with their COVID safety plan. They have extensive safety measures including a health check before entering the school, mask wearing, hand washing and sanitizing, having separate inside school shoes and outside shoes, plexiglass glass dividers between choice centers, and social distancing at circle time. During the first week of school, they even taught children about Corona Virus, in a fun and informational way, so children can be aware and know why they are doing these safety measures and at the same time not to be afraid of it.

The generous ways the Kid Krazy community supports all the students continues to even grow more and more helping our children see that opportunities are endless.

Thank you for being such an important part of our son’s and many other children’s growth. Here is to the many years you continue to inspire with love, acceptance, and purpose!

When my husband and I discovered Kid Krazy, we knew we had hit the jackpot. We researched a broad range of preschools and Kid Krazy was the only one where every single parent had only positive things to say. From our first meeting with Ms. Chin, we were impressed with the program's intentional, creative and developmentally appropriate approach. Once Lilah started attending, we really saw what that looked like first hand. I appreciated that the Kid Krazy teachers worked with the children using a solid knowledge of childhood development as their foundation but were also responsive to the individual needs and talents of each kid. Lilah was known and loved as an individual and learned to be a member of a diverse and vibrant group of children. Did she learn a lot of early reading and math skills? Absolutely. Did she develop self control and social skills? For sure. But more importantly, she felt engaged, loved and invested every day. A two and a half year old doesn't use those words to describe how she feels. Instead, she teaches you how to milk a cow when she comes home from school. She explains when to use listening ears and how to treat friends...and then she makes you do it. She holds court in the living room and reads to the entire family. She starts making one zillion observations and asking twice as many questions when encountering a new experience. As a parent, getting to watch that all happen, you know that if she could write this note, she'd echo everything I'm saying here. We've moved out of state and miss Kid Krazy so much. It set the bar we measure Lilah's current preschool by and we'll always be grateful for the experience she had there and the teachers who gave her so much.

Happy Birthday Kid Krazy! we wish you continued success!!

It was our first time enrolling our son in preschool, so we were nervous at first but the teachers and the rest of the staff at Kid Krazy are so incredible that they soon made us feel comfortable. Kid Krazy is a safe place for my child, as busyfull-time working parents, it is very important for us to be able to drop off our child knowing that he is going to have a great time with his teacher and friends, learn, be happy and there is no worry on our part.Kid Krazy always has great activities that continue to inspire children and their parents. My son enjoys interacting with his great teachers. He loves his friends and all the fun learning activities, he gets excited every morning about going to school.Everyone at Kid Krazy is nice, warm, compassionate and supportive.Ms. Chin has been always available when we needed advice. We are very thankful to have discovered Kid Krazy and its incredible staff. We highly recommend this school.”Now, as we prepare for my son to leave KK, our most important task is to move him to a school that continues to challenge him and push him towards being successful not only as a person, but also academically. We are very excited as our second son will start preschool at Kid Krazy this coming summer.

"I have to say that my experience with kid Krazy has been wonderful through these past 4 years. They have a wonderful program. When my son graduated and went to kindergarten, he had no difficulties at all. And their staff is loving and caring. I must say that during these hard days our kids were never left alone. The remote learning has been a part of our life every day and the Kid Krazy family was able to lead with it to help our kids get through their Prek learning. I highly recommend Kid Krazy. It is a great environment for a child to grow. Happy birthday again!

Our daughter attended Kid Krazy for Pre-K during the 2019-2020 school year. During the first roughly two-thirds of the school year, we were pleased with our daughter’s experience in the "Butterfly” classroom. She was always excited to go to school and seemed to thrive in the environment created by Ms. Chin and her staff. We were consistently impressed with our daughter’s progression not only in writing, but also in independence and socialization. The final third of the school year, however, is when the team at Kid Krazy truly exceeded our expectations. As New York City became the global epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic, Ms. Chin and her team went above and beyond the call of duty to create a virtual learning environment on the fly that would allow our daughter and her Butterfly classmates to continue their learning and development despite unprecedented obstacles. Butterfly teacher Eugenia, along with assistants Karen and Maria, were able to manage twice-daily video conferences with over a dozen preschoolers, as well as multiple small group breakout sessions per week, in order to maintain a structured and enriching learning experience for their students. At a time when most other Pre-K students in other programs were receiving little-to-no live instruction, this is nothing less then exceptional. Despite all the challenges presented by the spring of 2020, our daughter’s abilities in reading, writing and math have grown exponentially — due in large part, we believe, to the hard work and dedication of her Kid Krazy teachers. The passion for teaching and love for their students demonstrated by the Kid Krazy team during this time puts this program in a class by itself.

My son has been with Kid Krazy since he was 2 years old. As soon as he started, I was immediately impressed with the creative and engaging way the curriculum was presented. There was a nice balance of structured time and play. The children were introduced to new themes each week. It was clear that time and effort was spent on prepping materials and creating sensory tables that were thoughtfully filled with age appropriate items based on the theme. Since his time at Kid Krazy we have watched him blossom and come into his own. He’s always been a bit of a social butterfly, so how appropriate that he’s about to graduate as a Kid Krazy Butterfly! The Pre-K program has prepared him quite well for Kindergarten and I am so glad he had such a wonderful Kid Krazy experience.

Dear Ms. Chin,

I Wanted to thank you again for your time a few weeks ago. After realizing your intention with our meeting, I was really impressed with how proactive you were being with wanting to discuss (our son's) progress and future development. You really demonstrated a good handle in understanding (our son's) progress and current challenges and I am so grateful that you wanted to know our perspective to better help (his) growth. We had selected Kid Krazy for (our son) because I had read so many reviews from parents about the positive experiences they have had. While I knew (our son) was progressing well as a part of your program/curriculum, I was very impressed with the level of care, concern, and compassion that you, as the director, demonstrated for our son. Certainly, your job is not an easy one, for this reason I cannot thank you enough for your invaluable time and for the level of concern and involvement you have for our son and his development. As a result of our conversation not only were we able to implement your advice and see immediate results, it reassured us that we could not have made a better choice in selecting Kid Krazy as the foundation for (our son's) growth.

Kindly,

(PreK Parents)

Dear Kid Krazy Team,
My son is now a Butterfly (pre-k) at your school and has been going since he was a Bumblebee (2 1/2 years old). I wanted to thank you for all the amazing work that your fine staff has been doing and for being a true partner in my son's development and education. My son loves to go to school every day!

We transferred to your school after almost two years at a day care closer to my job location and while that day care was great and the staff was caring and qualified (my younger daughter is there until she turns two) I am so glad I switched my son to your school.

I can see the difference when I bring him to his old school, whenever Kid Krazy is closed, and he is the most well behaved kid in class there, and is more advanced in his knowledge and understanding than his old classmates are (his former teacher tells me that every time). While I would not call your teachers strict, the Kid Krazy kids learn how to behave in a respectful manner to one another and to their teachers, a quality that I am sure will come in handy next year in kindergarten and generally in life.

I can always talk to the teachers and get feedback on my son, and if I have a concern I can always address it with the teacher, which is great. He is learning so much and it always delights me to hear about the complex things he learns in preschool at his age.
I was a little concerned about the school not having an outdoor play area (21st ave location) but the kids always go outside whether it is a community walk, the play ground or to the waterfront.

Curriculum night and Parent/Teacher days are really beneficial for me as a parent because it is an opportunity for me to learn about what the kids are doing all year and what goals are set for them.

I did not realize how Kid Krazy is really in a league above other schools until I had a live comparison with my son.

We are lucky to have such a great preschool in Astoria!

Respectfully GWY

I have been a Kid Krazy parent for the last 7 years. My oldest started in the tumble tot room at 18 months old. This was our first childcare experience outside of our home- I had so many questions : What if he doesn’t drink out of the bottle? What if he doesn’t take a nap? What if he cries all day? The staff and teachers at Kid Krazy never hesitated to answer them all. My son thrived in the Kid Krazy environment. The teachers followed a structured schedule with a balanced and flexible approval to ensure all of the children are getting the right attention. When we welcomed our second child, there was no question of where we would be sending him. We have had such loving and nurturing teachers at the school, and they prepared the children to start Kindergarten and transition into a larger school environment. In addition to our Kid Krazy "family”, we were thrilled to make long -lasting friendships with the other parents at the school. I will always treasure the gift of early-learning Kid Krazy offered my children

Hannah

My family has been lucky enough to be a part of the "Kid Krazy Family" for 2 years. Their philosophy academically challenges each child to maximize their potential while providing a loving and nurturing environment. Kid Krazy has been the best start for my daughter. While teaching her letters and numbers the staff has stressed the importance of respect for oneself and one another. They have also stressed cultural awareness through a diversity of cultural activities and celebrations.

They have an academically challenging program far better than anything else available to us in the neighborhood. Through their individual attention to each child they give extra help to those who need it and further challenge those who are ready for more. The children excel beyond parental expectations while having fun and enjoying each others company as well as that of the staff. Today my 4 year old daughter read 3 books to me. She is well prepared for the transition into kindergarten next fall. I am glad to have found Kid Krazy.

When we enrolled our son at Kid Krazy he was 2 years old and not talking at all. At that point he had a hard time focusing on any one thing for more than 30 seconds, not saying any words and not really understanding what was said to him as well.

It is now 7 months later and we can honestly say he is a different child. Because of Ms. Chin and the structure that she manages at Kid Krazy, my son has been able to develop his communication and focusing skills. The progress that he has made is because of the program Kid Krazy offers. It is much more than just a daycare facility. The program focuses on children's needs as well as enhancing their strengths.

We are so lucky to have found Kid Krazy and continue to refer other families to the center.

How do I know my daughter loves Kid Krazy? Because she never wants to leave! She's eager to go in the morning and begs to stay at pick-up time. On weekends she chatters endlessly about her friends and all the fun things they did.
Although other pre-schools might offer a strong academic component and a chance to build social skills, Kid Krazy has something more; a staff of loving teachers who genuinely enjoy working with children.
As my daughter completes her third year she is happy, has many friends and is confidant with letters, numbers and her writing skills. Thank you Kid Krazy for giving her such a wonderful start!

After researching many preschools in the area, I found Kid Krazy had everything I wanted in an early learning center - including loving teachers. My daughter has blossomed creatively, academically and socially. I would highly recommend any parent who needs the best care for their child to think about Kid Krazy.

I am a speech therapist with, many years of experience, working with a 21/2 year old child who attends Kid Krazy and I am very impressed with this daycare center. After having worked in many centers (Manhattan and Queens), I have rarely seen such an effective program.

What impressed me first was their respectful way of speaking to all the children and parents. They are firm and consistent but also very loving. Treating kids with respect is the way children learn to respect others. Telling them clearly what you want them to do and being consistent about that makes children feel safe and cared for.

The child I am seeing can now participate in a group, listens to stories and answers questions. He talks to other children when they play together and now speaks in sentences.

When the school posted a notice that progress reports were being prepared for each child my reaction was that they really knew what they were doing. They've gotten to know each child as an individual; their personality differences, how each of them learns, how each handles stress, their needs, likes and dislikes. That is an enormous amount of dedication and work. They are real pros!

I would not hesitate to leave a child in their care.
